STCW Basic Fire Fighting is a 2-day basic training course for vessel crews. The fire day covers various fire extinguishing methods, extinguishing techniques, and occupational safety; the trainees also carry out extinguishing exercises. On the second day, trainees practise the use of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) in smoke filled enclosed spaces, which include such elements as moving when surrounded by smoke, extinguishing methods, and search and rescue of victims.
Open courses for individual participants are available in Finnish. Registration links are on our Finnish pages. Courses in English are available for groups on request. Non-Finnish citizens are required to apply for an access pass to Upinniemi garrison area.
