Hot Work Course

The aim of the Hot Work Certificate Course course is to prevent fire accidents at work. The course tackles the relevant legislation and guidance and the responsibilities of the different parties involved. After the course, the participants understand the importance of fire planning and fire permits and master the safe hot work practices. The course is administered by the Finnish National Rescue Association (SPEK).

The training will cover the following topics:

  • Safe Hot Work
  • Responsibilities and obligations
  • Fire risks in different environments
  • Security measures in different environments and a security drill
  • What to do in the event of an accident
  • Initial fire drill
  • Exam and briefing

Hot Work Certificate Course duration is 8 hours and includes six theory lessons, protective and initial extinguishing exercises and an exam. SPEK issues a Hot Work Certificate, which is valid for five years from the date of course completion (source: SPEK).

We organise courses on request for groups as well as open courses for individuals. The maximum group size is 30 people.
