Occupational Safety Card Training

Occupational Safety Card Course provides basic knowledge of potential hazards in the working environment and occupational safety and health in the workplace. A safety card is issued on successful completion of the training. Occupational Safety Card is valid for five years.

Occupational Safety Card® is a nationally standardized course to familiarise workers with occupational safety issues. The aim of the Occupational Safety Card® training is to make occupational safety a key concern in workplaces.

Occupational Safety Card Training

  • improve practical cooperation in joint workplaces between different parties
  • support job coaching in common workplaces
  • provide basic information on occupational safety
  • reduce overlapping of training by different parties
  • arouse interest and motivation in workplaces to improve the safety skills of the personnel
  • aims to reduce accidents, incidents and harmful stress at work

Different Occupational Safety Card Course providers may have a slightly different focus. Meriturva focuses on working on board ships and in ports. The Occupational Safety Card Course focuses on both physical and mental safety at work.

Benefits of Occupational Safety Card Course

By identifying the different hazards and stress factors at work, you can also protect yourself against them. Changing conditions in the workplace require constant observation and the ability to reassess work tasks to prevent hazards from arising.

After the course the workers are able to identify the mental or physical safety hazards associated with each job.

Occupational Safety Card Courses have had a postive impact on workplace safety and significantly reduced dangerous and fatal incidents.

A safe workplace is everyone's right. The aim of the Occupational Safety Card Course is to increase your ability to anticipate risks. The aim is for workers to go home healthy at the end of their shift and to maintain their ability to work. Occupational Safety Card Course is organised for all sectors, and the Centre for Occupational Safety and Health trains occupational safety instructors for different sectors.
